Early Graduation Policy

Students who meet all graduation academic standards early may request permission for early graduation. Applications must be submitted to the guidance counselor by the end of the sophomore year and require parental and administrative approval.

Honors & Distinctions

Valedictorian and Salutatorian designations are awarded to seniors with the highest cumulative weighted GPA. To qualify for senior honors, a student must be enrolled in the school for at least four semesters prior to graduation.

Academic Policies & Procedures

Please review the standard requirements and policies that guide student progression, support, and administrative records at AJA.

1. Kindergarten Requirements

Children must be 5 years old by September 1st to enroll in Kindergarten. A comprehensive developmental readiness screening, updated immunization records, and an official birth certificate must be submitted prior to the first day of classes.

All high school students must carry a minimum load of 6 academic classes per semester. The official Drop/Add period remains open for the first two weeks of each semester. Any changes outside of this window require administrative oversight and will appear on the transcript.

Structured Parent-Teacher conferences are scheduled twice per school year. Faculty-led tutoring is available after regular hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Parents should reach out directly to department heads or individual advisors to secure tutoring slots.

AJA provides comprehensive accommodation plans for students with documented learning differences. Parents must present an evaluation conducted within the last three years by a licensed professional to initiate formal student adjustment programs.

Standardized academic testing is conducted annually. Grade promotion is dependent on passing all key developmental and core academic fields, maintaining a satisfactory behavioral standard, and keeping a cumulative attendance rate above 90%.

Permanent academic files, developmental records, and administrative documents are managed strictly by the registrar's office. Standard requests for transcripts or record transfers must be made in writing at least five business days in advance.
